Emmanouil is a Senior Director and co-leads FTI’s Technology Media and Telecoms practice in Brussels. At FTI his areas of main expertise lie in the policy fields of data, Artificial Intelligence, e-privacy, IoT, and online platforms (view here his snapshot on e-privacy, & on global AI regulatory landscape). He is also a member of the European AI Alliance, CEPS AI taskforce and leads FTI’s global AI taskforce.
Emmanouil has over 10 years of experience in EU Public Affairs, advising and supporting clients ranging from major corporations to trade associations on issue areas pertaining to: technology, trade, chemicals, energy, and environmental policy. Emmanouil is a ‘tech evangelist’, known for adopting early on social media and video use for advocacy purposes.
Prior to entering the public affairs sphere Emmanouil gained experience in the EU institutions in both the European Commission (Environment Cabinet and EU mission to the UN) and the Council of the European Union.
A Greek national, Emmanouil has a Master’s in International Political Economy and Europe from the University of Warwick and a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies from Kingston University.
In 2012 Emmanouil won the European Public Affairs award for “Rising Star of the Year”. He is bilingual in English and Greek.
