Nicolas is an economist by training focused on the impact of Artificial Intelligence on the economy and society. He is the representative of The Future Society in Brussels. Passionate about global technological progress, Nicolas now monitors international developments in the legislative framework surrounding AI. Prior to this, he worked at the economic policy think-tank Bruegel, where he worked on EU technology, AI and innovation policy. His research has focused on the impact of technology on labour markets and social security, though he has also published on global trade & investments, EU-China relations and transatlantic partnerships. Nicolas co-founded the Economists Without Borders in Oxford and worked for a world leading strategy consulting firm. He completed his Masters degree (M.Phil.) in Economics at the University of Oxford with a thesis on institutional engineering for resolving the tragedy of the commons in global contexts.
